Terms of service

Last updated: 19 September 2026

These terms are between Jokolomo Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202537155H, registered office at 18 Boon Lay Way #02-120, Singapore 609966) ("we", "us"), which operates the Zesty Options app, and you, the business that installs the app on a Shopify store ("you").

The app is for business use. If you install the app on behalf of another business, for example as an agency for a client, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that business, and that business is the merchant bound by them.

Shopify's own terms also apply to your store and your use of the Shopify platform. If these terms conflict with Shopify's terms about the Shopify platform itself, Shopify's terms prevail on that point. On everything about the app, these terms prevail.

These terms include our Privacy Policy and, where it applies, our Data Processing Addendum (the "DPA").

1. The app

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the app on Shopify stores you are authorised to manage, for as long as you comply with these terms. You may not resell the app, copy it, reverse engineer it, or use it to build a competing product.

We and our licensors own the app, including its code, design and trademarks. These terms give you a right to use the app and do not transfer ownership of anything to you. If you give us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

You need a Shopify store and the ability to install apps on it. We may change or remove features as the app develops.

2. Your responsibilities

  • 2.1 Your content and prices. The content you create in the app (option labels, help text, choice values, prices, upload rules) is yours. It must be accurate and lawful. You are responsible for what your customers see and are charged.
  • 2.2 Testing your storefront and checkout. The app calculates add-on prices using Shopify cart transforms. Results can be affected by things outside our control, including your theme, other apps, discounts, taxes, currencies and Shopify Markets. You are responsible for testing your options and prices on your storefront and at checkout, ideally on a preview theme, before and after you change them.
  • 2.3 Customer uploads and personalisation. If you enable upload fields or text inputs, your customers may submit files and personal details. You are responsible for telling your customers, including in your own privacy policy, what you collect and why; for having the right to collect and use it; for reviewing files before you use them to fulfil orders; and for not using upload fields to collect unlawful content. We do not review, moderate or virus-scan uploaded files, so treat them as untrusted. You must also have the right to use any images or files you attach to choices.
  • 2.4 Selling and customer service. Fulfilment, returns, refunds, tax display, consumer-law compliance (including rules on made-to-order or personalised goods) and answering your customers' questions are your responsibility, not ours.
  • 2.5 Acceptable use. You must not use the app to break the law or Shopify's acceptable use rules, infringe anyone's rights, distribute malware or harmful content, process payments outside Shopify checkout, or interfere with or attempt to bypass the security or plan limits of the app. We may remove content or suspend access if we reasonably believe these rules have been broken, or after a valid complaint from a rights holder.

2A. How the app works with your store

2A.1 What the app changes. To work, the app reads your theme to check whether the app block has been added to a product template (it never writes to your theme files), stores option settings against your products, stores the files your customers upload in your own Shopify Files library, and registers a Shopify cart transform that changes cart line prices. It also creates one helper product in your store, titled "Zesty Options Add-on", with a single variant, which the cart transform uses to merge add-on charges into the product's cart line. That product is active and published to your Online Store, so it can appear in your store search, reports and inventory counts. Do not edit or delete it while options with add-on pricing are in use.

2A.2 Back up first. Before you assign options in bulk, or import option sets from CSV, back up the product data you care about. We are not responsible for data loss caused by your changes or by other apps.

2A.3 If the app stops working. If you uninstall the app, or we suspend your access, the app's storefront options and cart transform may stop working, and add-on prices may no longer be applied. Products and orders already in your store are not affected. You are responsible for removing any leftover theme blocks. We keep your option data after uninstall so that a reinstall restores it; it is deleted under Section 4.5.

3. Plans, pricing and billing

  • The app is sold through Shopify App Pricing. Shopify charges you on your regular Shopify invoice; we never see or store your payment details. Prices are shown before any taxes Shopify or your jurisdiction may add.
  • Plan names, prices, trials and the product assignment cap for each plan are shown on the Shopify App Store listing and in the app's Plans page. The Shopify App Store listing is the authoritative price.
  • Each plan includes a cap on the number of products with option assignments. If you exceed the cap, the assignments you already have keep working on your storefront, but you cannot add new products until you are back under the cap or upgrade.
  • We may change plan prices. A change takes effect through Shopify's billing process from your next billing period, and we tell you in the app or by email before it applies to you.
  • You can change or cancel your plan from the Plans page, which opens Shopify's plan selection page, or by uninstalling the app. Cancelling takes effect according to Shopify's billing rules and any period you have already paid for.
  • We do not refund partial billing periods or unused time, except where the law requires it or we choose to in our discretion. Where a refund is given, it is processed through Shopify's billing system. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us first and we will look into it.

4. Data

4.1 Your content. You own the content you create in the app. You give us permission to host, process and display it as needed to run the app for you.

4.2 Personal data and our roles. For personal data of your customers that the app handles for you - for example text they enter in option fields, files they upload, and technical logs of those submissions - you are the controller and we are your processor. We process it only to run the app for you and on your instructions. Our Data Processing Addendum applies and forms part of these terms. For your own account and contact details, and for information about how you use the app, we are the controller, and our Privacy Policy explains how we use it.

4.3 Sub-processors. We use Shopify, Cloudflare and Neon to run the app. A current list is in our Privacy Policy. We will tell you before we add a new sub-processor that handles your customers' personal data, and you may object by uninstalling the app.

4.4 Export. You can export your option sets, choice sets and assignments as CSV from the app at any time.

4.5 Uninstalling and deletion. When you uninstall, we keep your setup for at least 48 hours so that an accidental uninstall can be reversed. Shopify then sends us a shop-data deletion request, and we delete your data from our systems within 30 days of that request. Backups are removed on their normal cycle, within 30 days. You can ask us to delete your data sooner by emailing hello@ludicas.app, and we will respond within 30 days. We may keep information we are legally required to keep.

4.6 Requests from your customers. We respond to Shopify's privacy requests (customer data requests, customer data deletion and shop data deletion) and will help you respond to requests from your customers about data the app holds for you.

4.7 Security. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data the app holds. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your data, we will tell you without undue delay.

5. Availability and support

The app runs on Shopify's platform and on third-party infrastructure. We aim to keep it available and correct, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service and we do not offer a service level agreement.

Support is by email at hello@ludicas.app, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00 Singapore time, excluding Singapore public holidays. We aim to reply within two working days. Include your store domain so we can look things up.

6. Third-party services

The app depends on Shopify (app distribution, admin API, cart transforms, Files and billing) and on Cloudflare and Neon for hosting and storage. We are not responsible for outages, changes or errors in those services, including changes Shopify makes to its platform that affect how the app works.

7. Warranty and liability

7.1 As is. The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties and conditions.

7.2 Excluded losses. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, lost revenue, lost data or goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss.

7.3 Cap. Our total liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid for the app in the 12 months before the first event giving rise to the claim, and (b) SGD 100.

7.4 What is not limited. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything that cannot be limited by law. Nothing here limits your obligations under Section 7A or your obligation to pay fees that are due.

7A. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us, and our directors, employees and contractors, against third-party claims, and the losses, damages and reasonable legal costs that result, to the extent they arise from your content, options, prices or products; files or data your customers submit through the app, and your instructions to us about them; your breach of Section 2 or of applicable law; or your dealings with your customers.

We will tell you promptly about any claim, let you control its defence, and cooperate reasonably at your cost. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault by us or imposes obligations on us without our written consent.

8. Ending these terms

8.1 By you. You can end these terms at any time by uninstalling the app. Sections 2A.3 and 4.5 explain what happens to your data next.

8.2 By us. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms; immediately, if you use the app unlawfully, put our systems, other merchants or their customers at risk, or Shopify requires us to; or if we discontinue the app.

8.3 If we discontinue the app. We will tell you by email before it happens, and we will stop charging you for it. Products and orders already in your store are not affected.

8.4 What survives. Sections 2, 2A.3, 4.5, 7, 7A, 10, 12 and anything else meant to continue after termination stay in force.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. For material changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect, unless a change is needed sooner to comply with the law or with Shopify's requirements. If you do not accept a change, you can uninstall before it takes effect. If you keep using the app after the effective date, you accept the new terms. Non-material changes, such as fixing typos, take effect when posted, and the "last updated" date changes.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. The courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that either of us may ask any court for urgent injunctive relief. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot be excluded by contract under the mandatory law that applies to you. A person who is not a party to these terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of its terms.
